If your exotic pet is losing weight, it is a reason for concern.  Considering that most exotic pets are small, the loss of even one-half pound of a 5 pound pet is 10% of their body weight- and that’s not healthy. There are numerous potential reasons for weight loss, ranging from serious illness to a change in diet.  Your veterinarian will ask a variety of questions to help determine the best course of action.
