Tampa Vet Minimizing COVID-19 Risks

Tampa Veterinary Hospital remains committed to serving our guests and the patients in our care. Both the state of Florida and the city of Tampa have deemed veterinary hospitals to be essential businesses- and understand the important role our pets play in our families.

To maintain safe distances and provide a safe environment for our guests and dedicated team members, we are implementing several new safety protocols. These new protocols will remain in effect until the pandemic has subsided and are subject to modification as needed. We appreciate your patience and understanding so we can continue to provide outstanding care for your pet, and continue to provide you with the best service possible during this difficult time.

Introducing Curbside Concierge Service

We are prohibiting access to the public areas of the hospital, including the lobby/reception areas and exam rooms. We realize that this is not an ideal situation, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. This will continue until we determine it is safe for everyone- our guests and our team- to re-open our public areas.

Before you arrive for your appointment, please fill out a patient history questionnaire- which is available online here. By filling this out in advance of your visit, it will help us best serve you- and save you time. The form is a web form, so you don’t need to print it out and bring it with you, and will be submitted to our team electronically. It will only take a few minutes to fill out. We thank you in advance for doing this.

When you bring your pet to Tampa Veterinary Hospital for any service or exam, we ask that you remain in your car on your arrival. After you have safely parked (do not park in the Tampa General Hospital parking lot to the east of our building) please call us at 813-254-3031 and one of our care team members will meet you at your vehicle to escort your pet into the hospital. Please rest assured that we will provide the same compassionate, quality care that we have for the past 60+ years.

We’ve created several videos on how to get the most of your upcoming visit. The first is what you should expect during your curbside visit.

The next three videos are specific to the AirVet app. The first shows how to download and register to use the app:

The next video shows how to initiate an AirVet call with your veterinarian. This is for whether you’re using the app curbside, or if you’re using it from home or elsewhere.

The final video discusses using the AirVet app, and what the in-call icons mean- and what they do.

If your pet requires a prescription refill, or needs a prescription diet please consider using our online store which can be found here.  All of the prescription diets available at Tampa Vet are also available in the online store.  If your pet’s prescription medication is not available through the store, please call us- and we will fill the prescription in house for you to pick up.

If you need to pick up your prescription food or medications, please call us in advance so we may prepare your items. We will call you to let you know when they are ready to be picked up. When you arrive at the hospital, please remain in your vehicle. Call us to let us know you’ve arrived and one of our smiling team members will deliver your order to your car.

We are following guidelines issued by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association stating that all elective procedures, like bathing, pedicures or other non-medically necessary services be temporarily postponed until the COVID-19 threat has been resolved.

We thank you for your continued loyalty and patronage. We look forward to working together to keep your pets healthy while our nation battles the COVID-19 Pandemic.
